MATERIAL & FIT

Material and fit. Briefly explained.

GSM

Grams per square meter — the fabric's weight. The higher, the heavier and denser. A typical standard shirt is around 150–180 GSM. ARCHV tees: 300 GSM.

Cotton Jersey

Smooth-knit cotton — the classic t-shirt quality: soft, breathable, slightly stretchy. At ARCHV in a heavy 300 GSM version, so denser and more opaque than a thin standard shirt.

Cotton French Terry

Heavy loopback knit with soft loops inside. Hoodie material. Holds its shape.

Heavyweight

Heavy fabric quality with structure and body. Drapes denser, wrinkles less, keeps its shape.

Boxy

Straight, wide cut with short length — an almost square shape (width ≈ length). Sits loose, not fitted.

Oversized

Cut wider than standard. Deliberately large for a relaxed drape.

Dropped shoulders

The shoulder seam sits lower than the natural shoulder — looser, relaxed drape.

Ribbed (collar, cuffs, hem)

Elastic knit ribbing at collar, cuffs and hem. Stretches and springs back — keeps collar and hems in shape.

Kangaroo pocket

A single front pocket, open on both sides.

French Terry — common questions

What is French Terry? French Terry is a cotton knit with a smooth face and soft loops on the inside (loopback). Mid-to-heavyweight, breathable and holds its shape — the classic hoodie and sweat fabric.

What does French Terry mean? The name describes the knit with unbrushed loops on the inside — not brushed like fleece, so it's more structured and durable.

French Terry or fleece? Fleece is brushed and fluffy; French Terry keeps the loops, feels firmer and holds its shape better. ARCHV uses Heavyweight Cotton French Terry for the hoodies.
